Editorial standards.

How profiles are created, corrected, reviewed, labelled and separated from future commercial activity.

Version 1.1 · 4 August 2026

Profiles should help buyers, not flatter listings.

We begin with factual public information: trading name, website, location, described services and clearly attributable claims. A provider has one permanent profile which category pages reference by verified service, location and working model. Public profiles are labelled until an authorised representative claims them.

Inclusion and corrections

  • Submission does not guarantee inclusion.
  • Agencies may suggest corrections and provide stronger evidence.
  • SplatSearch decides taxonomy, labels and editorial wording.
  • Material corrections receive a new profile version and check date.
  • Closed, misleading or unverifiable listings may be removed.

Reviews

Reviews will require a traceable relationship and moderation. Incentivised reviews must be disclosed. We will not import unexplained aggregate ratings, accept anonymous attacks or invent reviews to fill empty profiles.

Right of reply

Agencies may respond to eligible reviews. Responses must address the experience without publishing private or sensitive information.

Ranking, sponsorship and referrals

Payment will not buy an undisclosed editorial ranking, label or award. Sponsored placements and commercial relationships will be visibly identified. Referral arrangements will not prevent SplatSearch from presenting relevant non-participating agencies.
